Emily from 721K shows off the seed starting mix that her teacher sent her so that she can plant from home. The class has been doing a number of remote planting experiments with lemon and avocado seeds. As you can see, they have also been practicing recycling and sustainability while they are at home. Great job class Y51 and thank you Ms. O’Donnell!
As part of the award the school won, the New York Restoration Project built this shady spot for the 721K garden. Now student gardeners can take a break when the sun gets too hot.

Congratulations to Erin Gill and 721K for being named Citywide High School Winners of the Golden Apple Awards for 2015! They also received the New York Restoration Project’s Rose Award and $10,000 for their Wheel Chair Accessible Garden. Read more about their awesome, edible and accessible garden.
