As part of the award the school won, the New York Restoration Project built this shady spot for the 721K garden. Now student gardeners can take a break when the sun gets too hot.
Here some other photos of the garden and shed.
The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens hosted our PLG workshop last month. We explored the new Discovery Gardens as well as the Native Flora Garden, which is 100% pure New York City flora. Some of us had to dodge Black Walnut pods that started raining down!

I have two sets of photos here. One of the garden to table event. The kale was used in the smoothies we prepared for the entire school-staff and students.
The other photos are from the 20 yards of dirt we ordered with grant finds to fill more beds.
Go big or go home!
Thanks Jeremy!
There is good news from 811X. They received a $5000 Golden Apple Award under TEAM UP to CLEAN UP as the High School Bronx winners. That is a big boost for their horticulture/gardening program.

Thank you, Paula Lucas, for the news.
