177Q submitted their curriculum, aptly named “The Right Stuff,” to the Grow NY competition. They shared their experience of traveling to Ithaca overnight to present their work:
“Class Y24 of P 177Q developed a curriculum that would help farmers and the agricultural community to keep and hire young adults with disabilities. Out of 30 teams in NY state, we placed in the top eight. Â Plus we were the only NYC public school invited to compete in Ithaca and the only students with disabilities to present. Â We made an infomercial and spoke for 5 minutes both verbally and using our ACC devices. Â It was like shark tank for students.”
